In Twenty-Six Seconds: A Personal History of the Zapruder Film, Alexandra Zapruder traces the story of how her grandfather came to take the historic and iconic 26-second footage of the Kennedy assassination. The film not only led to conspiracy theories and investigations, but also left the Zapruder family with the burden of responsibility for the film and how it was subsequently handled.

For the first time—with the help of records, previously sealed archival sources, and interviews—Alexandra  traces the film’s complex journey through history, considering its impact on her family and the public realms of the media, courts, federal government, and the arts community. Part biography, part family history, and part historical narrative, the book shows how 26 seconds of film changed a family and raised some of the most important social, cultural, and moral questions of our time.

The book will be available for purchase and signing.
