“VEEP!” No, not the TV show on HBO, but Real-life!
The Selection Process Demystified
Tuesday, July 12, 2016
EVENT TYPE: Speaker Luncheon
Former Obama 2008 campaign and Obama White House communications director, Anita Dunn, talks about WHO Hillary might select as her running mate, as well as HOW should she select her VP running mate.
The buzz is buzzing and rising in pitch as the Democratic National Convention approaches on July 25-28 in Philadelphia. But suspense and rumors aside, there are also important issues at stake. And Anita Dunn is just the person to offer perspective. Now a managing director at SKDKnickerbocker, Ms. Dunn is co-author of a new report titled Selecting a Vice President: Advice for Presidential Candidates, and almost certainly Hillary and her key advisers are reading it!
Issued in April 2016 by the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Working Group on Vice Presidential Selection, the report could not be more timely. The VP choice is “one of the most consequential decisions on the campaign trail,” according to the report.
