This award-winning film by sociologists (and long-time WNDC members) Alice and Lincoln Day premiered as the opening film of the 2008 Environmental Film Festival. In the years since, it has gone on to a variety of screenings and awards throughout the US and abroad.

The film’s interviews and personal accounts – with scientists, field workers, military personnel, and people whose lives have been directly affected by the environmental consequences of war – are supported with footage from a number of organizations, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.

The Days, who first met as graduate students in sociology at Columbia University, have worked together on many joint projects, mostly focusing on population, peace, and the environment. Scarred Lands is their first film.

The Days will host a Q & A after the screening.

PRICE: $25 Members/$30 Non-members (Light dinner and movie); $10 Movie only. Cash Bar.
