For more than 30 years, billionaires have been trying to convince the public that Social Security is headed for collapse. They are wrong. In fact, the time is right to expand Social Security, the key to retirement dignity for millions of workers and their families.
Nancy J. Altman has a 40-year background in the areas of Social Security and private pensions. From 1983 to 1989 she was on the faculty of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and taught at Harvard Law School. In1982, she was Alan Greenspan’s assistant when he chaired the bipartisan commission that developed the 1983 Social Security amendments. Before that, Ms. Altman worked with Senator John Danforth on these issues. There is much more about her that makes her the person to talk to us about this very important issue. She has written many books and holds many positions that encompass her life’s work. The book will be available for purchase and signing.
