PRICE: $15 (includes light dinner) Cash bar
EVENT TYPE: Evening Panel Discussion
Panelists: Elissa Silverman, At-Large DC Council Member
David Grosso, At-Large DC Council Member
Come ask questions on the details for legislation proposed by DC Councilmembers Elissa Silverman and David Grosso that provides almost all DC residents and employees 16 weeks of paid family and medical leave. DC would be the first city to offer paid family and medical leave for nearly all of its residents, while giving DC employers a competitive advantage in attracting qualified employees. Employees will receive pay while recovering from illness, spending time with an infant or adopted child, tending to sick family members or recuperating from military deployment. The funding pool will come from a new tax placed on private D.C. employers. These are funding proposals only and are subject to change.
