This talk will focus on what President Obama accomplished with his historic policy of engagement toward Cuba and the looming political fight to sustain a sane approach to relations with Havana under the Trump administration.
Peter Kornbluh is a senior analyst at the National Security Archive at George Washington University, and is the lead correspondent on Cuba for The Nation magazine. Last March he accompanied President Obama to Cuba as part of the White House Press Corps. His last book Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations between Washington and Havana (with William LeoGrande), won an award for “distinguished writing on American diplomacy” from The American Academy of Diplomacy.
