Winter Art Exhibition Reception
Vatsala Menon:
“Inner Visions”
Thursday,November 17, 2016
TIME: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm, Ballroom
EVENT TYPE: Art Exhibition Reception
The Visual Arts and Museum Affairs Committee presents “Inner Visions” by Vatsala Menon. Indian born, Vatsala discovered her love for painting late in life. She has since successfully exhibited at various locations throughout Washington, Virginia and Maryland, such as Glenview Mansion, Montpelier Arts Center, Maryland Federation of Arts Charity Auction, Montpelier Art Gallery and recently at the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts in Annapolis.
Vatsala considers her art a mid-life rebirth, an expression of her inner thoughts, feelings, and senses translated on canvas. Her lifelong fascination with the moon resulted in the Moon Series, whereas the times we are living in today—surrounded by violence, unspeakable acts of terror, and a lack of compassion and civility in the world—prompted her to process these issues in her “War Series”.
PRICE: The event is free, but registration is recommended.
