The Woman’s National Democratic Club is seeking a Communications & Marketing Coordinator. In a time when the fight to preserve and promote Democratic values is so crucial to the health of our country, the Communications & Marketing Coordinator will fulfill an essential role in promoting our message to the larger political movement and in mobilizing our members to engage in civic learning and community action. 

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will be part of a highly collaborative team led by the Woman’s National Democratic Club President, Director of Strategic Communications and in community with the Club’s Board Members and committee heads.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with communications and marketing, strong design skills and graphic design training, be fluent in design and large-scale email software, and website management experience. The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will be able to manage multiple projects while maintaining a strong attention to detail. The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will be comfortable fulfilling both public-facing and behind the scenes duties. 


Communication & Marketing Strategy

  • Support a comprehensive promotion strategy for events at the club
  • Ensure that all events are photographed and documented appropriately 
  • Support roll-out and development of a contact relationship management (CRM) system/database; help optimize integration with CRM and email and website systems, develop segmentation within the contact base, and build associated outreach plans
  • Analyze engagements across all communication platforms, and with the support of senior staff, adjust communication and marketing strategy

Print & Social Media

  • Design and produce all communication and marketing material—email, brochures, newsletter, miscellaneous graphics and illustrations for distribution within and outside the WNDC 
  • Ensure the communications exhibit WNDC’s current activities and activism, historical legacy, political action and advocacy, arts and visual affairs
  • Maintain visual identity presenting a cohesive and consistent message across WNDC materials
  • Manage and expand WNDC’s social media presence creating and posting content that builds a stronger identity for the WNDC across social media, 

Web Master

  • Support the roll-out of the new WNDC website, maintaining contact with the web design company
  • Maintain and update the website regularly ensuring that each page contains current content and images 

Intern Coordinator

  • Manage the internship programs ensuring that interns are serving ongoing projects and that project directors have enough assistance

Skills Required

  • Strong design skills, ideally some graphic design training
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Fluency with design software, large-scale email software (e.g., Mailchimp/Constant Contact), MS office suite
  • Experience with html/website management 
  • Several years’ experience in communications; having worked for a non-profit organization is a plus
  • Any experience with fine-arts or museums a particular plus
