This smash hit revival of Broadway’s “Best Musical” Tony-Award-Winner, on stage until January 29, sails onto the intimate stage of Signature Theatre ( the 2009 Tony awardee for Best Regional Theatre in America). The musical has won rave reviews with its large cast and a Broadway-size orchestra of 17. Its director Eric Schaeffer, joined perhaps by several cast members, will come to the WNDC to talk about this dazzling production is its director, Eric Schaeffer, perhaps joined by several cast members.
Everyone knows how “Titanic” ends. But this show — chock full of glamor and chaos, heroism and tragedy, set on the most infamous ship of all — begins with a portrait of the people on board, some “coming to America” (reminiscent of today’s headlines) as immigrants wanting new and better lives. It features story and book by Peter Stone and music and lyrics by Maury Yeston.
The Club will also organize a group event to see “Titanic”, with reduced price tickets.
