Abner Mikva was a tireless advocate for democracy and ethical government and believed fervently in the power of young people to effect change.  A timely film Mikva! Democracy is a Verb—airing nationally on PBS beginning in late October—chronicles his remarkable career as a US Congressman, Federal Judge, and White House Counsel. WNDC is able to offer a prescreening of the documentary, and then host an engaging discussion with the author and Executive Producer Sanford Horwitt, journalist Al Hunt, Georgetown Law professor and former law clerk for Judge Mikva, Sheryll Cashin, and a Mikva Challenge DC youth advocate. Abner Mikva was a fierce advocate for young people engaging in the political and electoral systems, and his vision and legacy of youth political leadership will inspire us as we near the 2020 Elections.
