The Future of Justice: How to Create Lasting Change
Eliza Orlins, Manhattan Public Defender and Candidate for Manhattan District Attorney
As a public defender, Eliza Orlins has seen firsthand how Manhattan’s criminal justice system favors the rich and connected. She wants to end the egregious sentences for small offenses that threaten vulnerable people’s jobs and housing, and perpetuate unemployment, poverty, and instability.
As a criminal defense attorney for The Legal Aid Society, Eliza has litigated in both New York State Supreme Court and New York State Criminal Court. She also trains new lawyers in the fight so more people who can’t afford an attorney have a powerful voice against injustice.
WNDC is practicing social distancing so our speaker programs continue to be offered online via Zoom.
