Sarah Chayes—author, journalist, and former Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff—returns to the WNDC to continue her analysis of international corruption and examine its parallels to financial malfeasance in the United States.

Her newly released book, On Corruption in America and What Is at Stake, shines the spotlight on sophisticated networks of government officials, key private-sector interests, and blatant criminals and how their goals intertwine. Their main objective is not to serve the public’s interest but to maximize financial returns for their network members.

Chayes casts an unflinching eye at current America as she explores the dangerous networks of corruption in our past, present and precarious future.
