Art Exhibition – Jasmin Smith: In the Forest of the Night

Our Ballroom Gallery will soon host “In the Forest of the Night” featuring the work of artist Jasmin Smith! Join us for the opening reception and a brief artist talk on Thursday, May 18th from 6:30–8pm. Jasmin Smith is a DC-based artist who draws her inspiration from her South Asian background and experiments with intense colors and abstraction. Inspired by the artist’s childhood trips to the beautiful forests of the Sundarbans located in the Bay of Bengal, the rich colors capture the diverse flora and fauna of the lush mangrove forest. Smith builds up layers of paint to create depth and vibrancy in her works, allowing the viewer to feel immersed in the forest completely. The exhibition will be on display in the Ballroom through September 5th, 2023.
