GOTV Fundraiser: Lashrecse Aird and Joshua Cole

On Wednesday, September 6, from 6–8 pm at the Woman’s National Democratic Club, two amazing candidates, Lashrecse Aird and Joshua Cole, are joining us in-person to talk about their work in the VA state legislature and how we can help them win in November. Continuing our Winning Wednesday tradition, we’ll also write letters to encourage Democratic-leaning voters in VA to vote this fall. Please come, bring a friend, and donate what you can in cash and sweat equity. Hors d’oeuvres and beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided.
Virginia is the last state in the South without some kind of abortion ban. Republicans control the Governorship and the House of Delegates, and Democrats have only a 2-seat majority in the State Senate. A GOP trifecta will work to dismantle abortion access and a person’s right to choose.
In this November’s elections, Democrats need just three seats to flip the entire House of Delegates blue again.In the State Senate, Democrats must expand their slim two-seat majority and prevent it from falling into Republican hands!
