Rep. Jan Schakowsky & Robert Creamer

October 15 @ 1:00 pm

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and her husband Bob Creamer are two of the country’s most astute, prominent progressive voices. On Oct 15, they will share their thoughts with us on the impeachment inquiry, other current events, and the political road ahead in Congress, and the country, leading to the 2020 election.

Congresswoman Schakowsky, a senior member of Speaker Pelosi’s leadership team, is serving her 11th term in the House representing  a congressional district on Chicago’s far North Side and northern suburbs. She has been one of the voices constantly calling for an impeachment inquiry of President Trump.  In the House, where she is Chair of the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee, she has focused on health care, income inequality and senior citizen issues. In President Obama’s first term, she played a leading role in winning House passage of the Affordable Care Act.

Bob Creamer has been a political organizer and strategist for almost five decades and has worked with many of the country’s most significant issue campaigns.  During George W. Bush’s presidency, Bob was a key architect of the successful campaign to stop the privatization of Social Security. During the Obama administration, he worked closely with the White House to pass the Affordable Care Act and served as a consultant to Americans United for Change to pass jobs and economic recovery legislation and, later, passage of the Iran Nuclear Agreement.  Since President Trump’s election, he has worked closely with a wide array of grassroots organizations to create “The Resistance” to Trump’s legislative agenda. He is also an author and regular contributor to the Huffington Post.
