Senator Tammy Duckworth: Everyday Is a Gift and Other Insights

Senator Tammy Duckworth is a former U.S. Army Lieutenant colonel who has served as the junior United States Senator for Illinois since 2017. A proud Iraq War veteran and helicopter pilot, she represented Illinois’ 8th district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017. Before election to office, she served as Assistant Secretary for Public in Intergovernmental Affairs in the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. Senator Duckworth will speak about the experience of having a majority in the Senate, what bill might be passed, Statehood and more. Her memoire Every Day Is a Gift will be available for purchase.
This program will take the form of a fireside chat, focusing heavily on Q&A with the audience. The cash bar will open at 3:30 pm, and the program will run from 4:00–5:00.
