Artist Reception: Matthew Keenan—”Horizons”

Matthew Keenan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. His work to date includes illustrations, ceiling and wall murals, and most recently was the character artist for an animated music video. Keenan paints with acrylic on canvas. His collection focuses on the ever changing light on the ocean and those times of the day when the sea and sky are at their most dramatic. As well as being a painter, Keenan is also a trained actor, a playwright and scenic designer. He is a resident set designer, carpenter and scenic artist at Keegan Theatre, right in the Dupont Circle area.
