Brendan Danaher is a member of the refugee ministry at the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church. He has worked in the labor movement for almost 20 years. In 2015, as the news of the refugee crisis spread, Brendan began to look for a way to respond. This calling intensified when some of our country’s politicians became increasingly cruel and abusive in their rhetoric about refugees and immigrants. After months of research, Brendan attended a meeting at Lutheran Social Services along with the pastors of Lutheran Church of the Reformation and the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church. From that discussion, the Capitol Hill refugee ministry was formed.
