Most Likely to Flip a Senate Seat: Bring on Jacky Rosen in Nevada!

4 3 2

rosenfornevadaJacky Rosen is running for the Senate in Nevada against Republican incumbent Dean Heller, known for backing Trump’s agenda 96% of the time in 2017. She’s got momentum, having been just named by the Washington Post as the most likely candidate to flip a seat in 2018!

Rosen has been a member of the House of Representatives for Nevada’s 3rd District since January 2017 and has lived in Nevada for nearly 40 years. She is the granddaughter of immigrants and grew up in a working-class family, holding two jobs to make ends meet. She broke barriers when she started her career as a computer programmer and software developer in the male-dominated tech industry.  Later, Jacky stepped away from her career to take care of her aging parents and in-laws when they got sick.

“As the first in my family to graduate from college… I climbed a ladder forged by generations of Americans. President Trump is trying to pull up the ladder behind him, leaving the middle class stranded. Trump ridicules women, people of color, the LGBTQ community, immigrant families, and anyone who challenges him.”

In the House, she’s been rated one of the most bipartisan freshmen and is a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus. She has been a champion for early childhood education in STEM, especially for young girls. Let’s support Jacky Rosen and help her rock the Senate!

susie leeOK WNDC, listen up: This is not a drill. All hands on deck. It’s panic button time. Whatever cliche moves you either to open your wallet and whip out your credit card and go to Act Blue’s web site; or to come on down to WNDC to volunteer to help save our democracy; this is the Candidate Watch for you–blunt and to the point!

Susie Lee is the Democratic candidate for Jacky Rosen’s Congressional seat, which is open while Rosen battles incumbent Republican Senator Dean Heller in the upcoming Senate election. Lee, an education and non-profit professional, is running against Republican Danny Tarkanian and several independent candidates to represent the district, which consists of the area south of Las Vegas. Although the district is currently Democratic, forecasters rate the race as anywhere from “lean Democratic” to “tilt Democratic” to “toss-up.” WNDC, you all remember where you were and how you felt on November 8, 2016, after hearing months of predictions that Clinton was going to win the election, right? We cannot be complacent again. It’s time to stand up and fight to the finish! That means helping candidates such as Lee.

Candidate Watch could wax eloquent about what an accomplished person and great candidate Lee is, which is true. Along with the usual supporters, she has been endorsed by President Obama, Vice-President Biden, and other Democratic luminaries. If you want to learn more about Lee, please go to her campaign website: . Better yet, just go to WNDC ACTBLUE and donate to Lee’s campaign.
