Join us as members, Anne Martin and Elaine Newman share their journey to India to witness the signing of the sister cities agreement between Montgomery County and Hyderabad, India. As ambassadors of good will, they will share their perspective of education in rural areas through programs such as the Ekal School, whose premise is “If poor children cannot come to education, education must go to the child.”
Be treated to Henna body art, which is a non-permanent tattoo and an ancient cosmetic ritual, originating in Africa. Professional Henna artist Marcela Faruqui will suggest designs for your hands or arms. It is a reminder of the fantastic story of love that resulted in the construction of the magnificent structure known as the Taj Mahal.
