As Director for Public Liaison, Mary Bruce is responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with Democratic Party organizations, the executive and legislative branches of the government, and like-minded organizations. She also coordinates the Club’s participation in national conventions and elections.
Mary is the Executive Director of the BA Women’s Alliance, a nonprofit organization which supports the personal and professional development of women who seek to make a difference in the world. BA Women was founded to honor B.A. Rudolph, who passed away too young at the age of 55. B.A., a veteran of the Clinton Administration, was compassionate, bossy, irreverent, generous, and loyal. BA Women dedicates their work to women who radiate B.A.’s devotion to advancing and empowering women; they carry on her legacy through EmpowHER, an internship program which helps collegiate women find DC-based internships and launch careers that change the world.
Prior to joining BA Women as their first executive director, Mary worked with nonprofits including America’s Promise Alliance, the College Board, GradNation, and AmeriCorps Alums. Mary has served as an adjunct professor in leadership at the University of Virginia, faculty for the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Results Count™ leadership development program, and is on the national steering committees of Equity in the Center and New Politics. Mary earned her BA from the University of Virginia and her MPA from Princeton. She is an alumna of AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and shares B.A.’s indomitable will to make things happen.
