I would be interested in working on which of the following:
*
Archives—The Archives Committee guides efforts to collect and promote use of materials pertaining to the Club’s history and related materials. Working with a part-time staff archivist, this Committee will engage in special projects such as the 100th Anniversary and the WNDC EF calendar.
Building & Grounds—The Building & Grounds Committee has responsibility for all building systems, the building exterior, and the gardens.
Communications—The Communications Committee promotes Club messages and activities to our members and the public, helping with publication and graphic design, social media strategy, and traditional media relationships.
Development—The Development Committee raises funds and applies for grants for community-based projects and preservation of our beloved Whittemore House.
DMV Community Volunteering—When volunteer needs arise local to the DC Metro area, the Club mobilizes assistance.
Educational Foundation (EF)—EF is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan public charity dedicated to the education of the public on issues related to education and to women’s history and contributions, to community outreach, and to the preservation of the Whittemore House museum, its history and contents.
Get Out the Vote (GOTV)—GOTV is a vibrant force at the Club, mobilizing activists in creative and fun ways so that together we can work to elect Democrats and enact progressive policies.
Human Resources—The Human Resources Committee interfaces with Insperity, which manages the Employees’ Handbook and coordinates the completion of all employment-related forms and annual reviews, oversees the Internship Program, and manages employee benefits in coordination with the Treasurer.
Membership—The Membership Committee represents the interests of the membership at large and creates a sense of community while growing and retaining membership by organizing social events, building national partnerships, and maximizing the effectiveness of our technology.
Programs—The Program Committee engages diverse speakers - from high-profile Democratic “stars”to grassroots figures in the policy and cultural worlds. We develop themes and series to amplify the Club’s mission and promote events to bring members together and to inspire our guests.
Public Liaison—The Public Liaison Committee develops and nurtures relationships with Democratic Party groups, the legislative branches of government, and like-minded progressive organizations.
Public Policy and Political Action Committee (PPC)—As the political arm of the WNDC, the PPC provides the direction and historic context of today’s social and economic justice challenges by vetting local and national candidates, creating strategies to Get Out The Vote and protect our elections, and advocating for Democratic policy positions through interactions with candidates and media figures and by partnering with like-minded groups.
Visual Arts and Museum Affairs Committee (VAMA)—VAMA manages the restoration and preservation of the Whittemore House as well as its furnishings and visual and decorative arts collection. VAMA also organizes quarterly exhibitions of local artists.
Young Dems—The Young Dems committee strives to recruit young democrats to the WNDC while harnessing the legacy and resources of the club to channel the power of a new generation of Democratic leaders to effect change.
