Nuzhat Sultan

As Director for Visual Arts and Museum Affairs (VAMA), Nuzhat Sultan is responsible for cataloging and researching the Club’s permanent collection, which consists of paintings, prints, decorative arts, and furnishings. She also oversees the restoration of the collection. Nuzhat designs the self-guided tour booklets and is in the process of setting up a docent program for tours of the Whittemore House.

In addition to her work with as Director for VAMA, Nuzhat is Vice President of the WNDC Educational Foundation and serves as an ex officio member of the Building and Grounds Committee.

Nuzhat was the principal of Washington Art Associates for 28 years. She co-founded the company to implement educational art and architecture tours for museum membership programs. She was the Exhibitions Chair of the Arts Club of Washington where she curated and juried a number of exhibitions and organized a lecture series. Nuzhat also chaired the Friends of the Corcoran Gallery of Art benefit, co-chaired the Program Committee of Art Table, and was on the board of Pyramid Atlantic, a nationally respected center of print and papermaking. of
