EVENT TYPE: Speaker Luncheon

It’s 1787 in Philadelphia on the eve of the Constitutional Convention. Playwright John Henry, director Rick Davis, and cast members Gail Kitch, Faith Lewis, and WNDC President Nuchhi Currier share their insights on the new play, Republic for Which We Stand, coming to the WNDC for its DC premiere on September 22.

Mixed with comedy and music, the play stages a fictionalized soirée with the Founding Fathers and Mothers — including Washington and Madison, and Martha and Dolly, and Hamilton (the villain) — foreshadowing how three generations of Presidential wars have turned what the Founders created on its head. Republic spotlights the role of powerful women in American and European history.

PRICE: $25 Members; $30 Non-members (includes lunch); $10 Panel only
