On May 1 we’ll be writing letters to voters in critical swing states and will hear from the Georgetown Young Dems about how we can connect with younger voters. The evening session will have a virtual option. Register at mobilize.us/wndc.
May's Table Talk will feature Steve Descanso, Fairfax VA District Attorney. Attendees will get a chance to better understand prosecution in our criminal justice system to better understand it is and to hear of recent reforms that improve criminal prosecution, victim and witness experience, and public safety. The intimacy of the setting is a unique chance to hear details and then engage in an open conversation. These matters address public policy, handgun violence (former task force at WNDC), and everyone's interest in justice.
New members are invited to join us for a happy hour, which includes one drink ticket for new members (who joined in the corresponding quarter), hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. All members are encouraged to come mingle and learn about the Club from your Director of Membership, Hollin Dwiggins! PRICE: Free.
First Fridays: Dupont Art Walk
Friday, May 3, 6–8 pm (no registration required)
Explore art galleries around greater Dupont Circle for a self-guided art walk Friday April 5th from 6:00–8:00 pm. The Woman’s National Democratic Club is proud to exhibit Cymn Wong’s “Poesy Spectrum Flow.” The exhibition shows Wong’s unique aesthetic of painting: a fusion of the fluidity and freedom of abstract expressionism with the contemplative practice of Zen calligraphy, which integrates free energetic and still-dynamic brush strokes.
