Join us in Philadelphia, a city rich in art and history and only a short train ride or drive away! Together, our members and guests will explore: Rodin Museum, a verdant, intimate setting for enjoying some of the world’s most renowned masterpieces of sculpture and learning about Auguste Rodin and his large body of work. Philadelphia Museum of Art, housing one of the nation’s largest collections of art spanning thousands of years, from artifacts dating back to 2,000 BC to works by today’s emerging artists. The Barnes Foundation, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour of some of the world’s most important collections of impressionist, post-impressionist, and modern paintings, including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso. These museums are all within walking distance of each other, so there’s no need to worry about moving cars or ordering ride shares! We will also explore the city’s special role in our nation’s history with a tour of Independence Hall, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. This package tour includes entry to the museums and a tour of Independence Hall. Transportation to and from Philadelphia is not included; participants may carpool or purchase tickets on Amtrak for about $75 round trip. The Club will provide a list of recommended restaurants and productions at Philadelphia's historic theatres, including the Walnut Street Theatre, one of the oldest theatres in the country.
