DC Area Events/Rallies/Protests 

• Defend DC Public Education: Sign UP!  If you live near a school, please reach out to volunteer to be a safety volunteer.  

• Free DC Calendar. Take direct action to oppose Trump’s military takeover of DC. Here are future activities and a suggestion to make some noise every night at 8 p.m.! 

• Bridge of Resistance, every Thursday in September, 5 – 6:30 p.m., Klingle Bridge, corner of Connecticut Ave. and Devonshire Place. Gather with signs to demonstrate against Trump’s attacks on democracy. 

• Rally for Democracy, Fridays, September 5, 12 & 19, 5 – 6 p.m., Forest Glen & Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, MD. Bring your signs in support of government workers, immigrants, the rule of law, the planet, our children, and jobs.

Advocacy/Lobbying Members of Congress 

DC residents: Ask your families and friends to call their members of Congress to explain that this is a fake DC emergency paving the way for a similar military deployment in Chicago and beyond. It’s quick and easy to do!  Staff don’t ask questions; they simply tally and report your requests. They may click HERE to find their Representative and Senators.  

Tell Congress: 

• Pass the Termination Resolution to stop this administration’s federal takeover of the Capital.  

• Denounce Trump's Deployment of the National Guard in DC.  

• Pass the DC Local Funds Act, allowing the city government to spend $1 billion in its own tax dollars.  

5calls.org makes calling simple with suggested scripts for over 50 issues, including: Demand the Release of the Epstein Case Files!, Support Ukraine, End the War & Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza, and STOP the Trump Administration's Election Interference! 

Fight Back Against ICE. If your family and friends have a Democratic Attorney General, CALL or EMAIL to tell them to fight back against Trump’s ICE overreach!
