As Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Committee Chair, Melinda (Mindy) Burrell leads the GOTV committee in setting and implementing a voter turnout strategy.
Mindy is a democracy and peacebuilding specialist who has spent 25 years working in conflict zones: leading humanitarian aid projects in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, as a staffer on political campaigns, and as a human rights lobbyist on Capitol Hill. Her campaign experience includes being senior Virginia state staff on President Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012, as well as heading the WNDC Get Out the Vote Task Force since 2018. She has a PhD in conflict analysis and resolution with a dissertation on how liberals and conservatives experience talking across the political divide. Mindy is a graduate of Amherst College and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and now consults on civil society development and peacebuilding.
