Calling All WNDC Members. We Need You!

Where should we go from here? Join the WNDC Public Policy and Political Action Committee (PPC) for a roundtable discussion on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Club (with refreshments served at 5:30). We’re inviting the WNDC members to ground ourselves in community and compassion by engaging in the work of the PPC.

We need your thoughts and ideas to help shape PPC priorities, positions, and principles on the issues and challenges we’re facing under the current administration. In two short weeks, Donald Trump has managed to sow chaos domestically and around the world. The goal of this administration is shock and awe. Pardoning the January 6 insurrectionists with a “get out of jail free” card; rescinding the Obama and Biden administrations’ environmental policies; abolishing DEI programs and attacking the LGBTQ community; imposing tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China; withdrawing from World Health Organization and the Paris Agreement on climate change; imposing cruel tactics of cracking down on immigration; and sending an email blast to all federal employees asking them to resign while outright firing some officials: The point is chaos and cruelty.

The PPC routinely updates our principles to reflect what we want lawmakers to do regarding current key issues. The latest set of principles updated in 2024 addresses and created subcommittees on six major areas: Democracy and Human Rights, the Earth and Environment, Health Policy, Education and Children’s Issues, Gun Violence Prevention, and National Security and Foreign Affairs. See the current edition of the WNDC Priorities and Principles here.

On Thursday, March 13, we will look for your help to shape the future directions of these subcommittees. Do we keep the six target areas and simply update them? Do we build new priorities to counter Project 2025? Should we consider a completely different approach to define the PPC’s purpose and function?

Please bring your experience, talent, and ideas to shape the PPC’s work. This is an opportunity to suggest how you believe our members can stay informed and engaged in the public policies we all care about. Please know you may get involved in whatever way works best for you.

We look forward to seeing you at the roundtable. Light fare and a cash bar will be open at 5:30 so we may begin promptly at 6:00 pm.

Members: $10, Non-Members, $15 (plus tax).
