WNDC Policy Work
The Public Policy & Political Action Committee (PPC) is the political arm of the Woman’s National Democratic Club. Available for interested Club members to join, task forces bring together experts and thoughtful observers of all levels in discussion of “the issues of the day.” The PPC develops and advocates for positions on a broad range of issues of national and international importance, through participating in the development of multi-organization platforms, networking, activism, and interactions with policy-makers, as well as convening lunch-table groups to break down the issues over a meal.

Positions on Democracy and the Constitution of the United States
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that in a democracy, the government must be accountable to all people, not just the powerful. Strong institutions and shared values are the foundation of that accountability. At the core of our democracy is the Constitution, which limits government power through three co-equal branches and affirms the rule of law. We support the ongoing work of forming a more perfect union—advancing equality under the law, protecting the right to vote, defending freedoms of speech and religion, and fighting discrimination in all forms. These values are essential not only in the United States but also in democracies around the world. (View full positions here)
Positions on The Economy
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that today’s U.S. economy is structured to serve the interests of the few at the expense of the many, privileging wealth and power over justice and equity. This system consolidates control in the hands of a small elite, leaving a vast majority of Americans with diminishing access to opportunity, security, and their democratic voice. A truly free and competitive market economy must also guarantee economic and social democracy. This includes a solid foundation of social security, protection for workers and families, and access to opportunity for all. The WNDC remains steadfast in its commitment to economic justice. Policymakers must act decisively to address these urgent challenges, ensuring that economic policies work for all Americans—not just the privileged few. ( Full positions here)
Positions on Education
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that public education in the United States is more than a service—it is a public good that sustains democracy, lifts communities, and secures our collective future. Every child, regardless of ZIP code, race, income, or background, deserves an education that is inclusive, aspirational, and equitable. We envision a nation where education is not a privilege but rather a shared promise: a promise that every child’s potential is worth investing in, every educator’s voice is valued, and every community is strengthened by its public schools. These actions are not just policy suggestions—they are moral imperatives. (Full positions here)
Positions on the Environment and the Climate Crisis
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that every person has the fundamental right to clean air, safe water, and a healthy environment. The worsening climate crisis—largely driven by human activity—continues to inflict severe health, economic, and ecological harm across the globe, with the most devastating effects disproportionately burdening vulnerable communities and poorer nations. We recognize that urgent and decisive action is needed at every level to mitigate climate change, reduce pollution, protect biodiversity, and ensure environmental justice. The climate emergency is not a distant threat—it is here, now, and worsening. Only through bold policies, sustained commitment, and collective advocacy can we safeguard our planet for future generations. (Full positions here)
Positions on Health
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that comprehensive health care is a fundamental human right—not a privilege reserved for the few. In the United States, access to science-based, equitable, and affordable health care must be guaranteed for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, or ability to pay. Every person, from birth through their final years, deserves high-quality, medically sound health care without the burden of financial insecurity or political interference. Health care in America must be shaped by the principles of justice, scientific integrity, and human dignity, not profit driven motives or political agendas. (Full positions here)
Positions on Human Rights
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that human rights are the foundation of a just and equitable society. Now, more than ever, we must uphold and protect these rights for ourselves and future generations. As a nation, we have an obligation to defend the principles that ensure dignity, freedom, and justice for all. Human rights are non-negotiable and must be protected against forces seeking to dismantle them. The WNDC stands firm in its commitment to ensuring justice, equality, and dignity for all people in upholding the rights that define a free and fair society. (Full positions here)

Positions on National Security and Foreign Affairs
The Woman’s National Democratic Club (WNDC) asserts that the national security of the United States and the welfare of its citizens rely on the strategic utilization of diplomatic, economic, informational, and military resources to safeguard and advance democratic principles, fortify alliances, and maintain international stability. Current trends of isolationism and inexperience in foreign policy leadership threaten global peace and diminish America’s credibility. We urge our nation’s leaders to reaffirm their commitment to global alliances and partnerships, and to stand firm against aggression while upholding the principles that have sustained international peace and prosperity for generations. They must uphold the international rule of law by respecting national sovereignty, defending nations under threat, protecting human rights, and honoring existing international agreements, treaties, and conventions. The foreign policy of the United States should mirror its domestic principles. Our dedication to international leadership must be accompanied by a renewed focus on fortifying our own democratic institutions and fostering civic culture domestically. (Full positions here)
