WNDC Federal Worker Welcome

OPERATION RECHARGE: A Four-Month Haven for Federal Workers and Contractors

The Woman's National Democratic Club is an inclusive space and this year we are all the more dedicated to taking meaningful action. To bring the energy and ideas from federal workers into our efforts, WNDC is providing an on-ramp to membership participation for federal workers already separated from employment or facing job insecurity, as well as impacted workers/former workers at organizations that rely on federal programs.

People need a gathering place for action, ideas, and camaraderie, so we are offering a no-fee four-month membership access term for federal workers and contractors impacted by recent workforce cuts. Eligible applicants include any worker whose income or workload have been impacted by DOGE

  • separated and continuing workers/contractors at impacted federal agencies
  • separated and continuing workers at organizations whose funding has been cut

This offer is currently available through the end of June 2025!

Not impacted financially by DOGE, but still interested in WNDC membership? Learn more and inquire here.

Here’s what Operation Recharge offers you:

  • Full Fee Waiver: You will pay event fees for those you attend, but you avoid the initiation fee, monthly dues, and food & beverage minimums.

  • Exclusive Member Perks: Enjoy access to the WNDC member portal, messaging groups, member rates for events, and use of our historic Whittemore House during open member hours.

How It Works:

  • Eligible participants are those who meet the criteria and apply April 1 through June 30, 2025.

  • To participate, simply complete a membership application—essentially the same one used by regular applicants, but without any payment obligations. The applications will be reviewed by the Club along with standard applications.

  • If you are approved for membership, at any time during your four months, you may choose to convert to a full-paying membership with the initiation fee waived.

  • If you don’t upgrade by the end of your four months, your membership access will conclude.

This is your opportunity to find a supportive space, stay engaged, and recharge during these challenging times. Let WNDC be your gathering place and resource for action, ideas, and camaraderie.

Next steps:

- If you'd like to visit the Club to check out the venue, we are open on weekdays. It would be great if you can phone ahead and speak to our Membership Coordinator on staff at 202-232-7363; she will be happy to know when to expect you and can show you around.

- If you'd like to attend an event, take a look at the calendar and call to register (instructions are on the event pages). Mention to our staff that you are evaluating membership -- that will ensure that someone finds you at the event to say hello and answer questions

- If you are not in the DC area, give our Membership Coordinator a call at 202-232-7363. Beyond the questions of yours that she can answer, she can also have a Club member contact you.

- If you're interested in getting more information about the categories of membership outside of Operation Recharge, please visit Benefits & Application - Woman's National Democratic Club. Feeling a little more secure? If you're in a position where you can apply for regular membership, that is greatly appreciated -- every full-freight membership allows us to open the doors for these temporary offers for your compatriots who are experiencing a squeeze at the moment.
