Opening September 12th, the Arts and Museum Affairs Committee is excited to announce our next exhibition, “Reckoning” by Aishwariya Chandrasekar. The works in this exhibition come out of a period of reckoning for the artist as she responds to both internal and external aspects of human experience. She uses ink mixed with embroidery and draws upon the tradition of kolum, geometric line drawings made from chalk powder of lines, curves, and loops practiced in southern India and southeast Asia. Through small, repetitive motifs, Chandrasekar pay homage to the small, ephemeral moments that leave a lasting impression.
