Women’s health care is still not where it should be. Our health-care system continues to overlook or minimize care for menopause, pregnancy, and other critical issues, leaving women without the support and resources they need and deserve.

Join the WNDC Public Policy Committee and D.C. Councilmember Christina Henderson for a candid table talk on how we can transform our health-care system to better serve women. We’ll explore what it takes--from policy changes to community-driven solutions--to create a system that listens to women and truly cares for them.

EVENT DETAILS:

  • Cash bar with lunch and roundtable discussions.
  • Noon bar opens, 1–2 p.m. program
  • $20 members, $25 nonmembers plus tax.

Christina Henderson is an at-large member of the Council of the District of Columbia and chairs the Council’s Committee on Health. During her time on Council, Henderson has worked to secure legislative and budgetary wins to improve maternal and reproductive health, increase the pay and benefits for workers, fight food insecurity, advance public safety and safe streets, support small businesses, and promote good governance.

Prior to her election in 2020, Henderson provided counsel to U.S. Senators, DC Councilmembers, and state and local education officials on an array of domestic policy issues that deeply impact families and children. She received her BA in political science from Furman University and a master's in public affairs from Princeton University. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a proud co-founder of the Black Women’s Congressional Alliance.
