Join National Women's Foundation for A Schumann–Brahms Musical Soirée, a candlelit concert in the historic Whittemore House, beautifully decorated for the holidays. Members of the National Symphony Orchestra Trio — Lisa Emenheiser (piano), Ricardo Cyncynates (violin), and Claire Eichhorn (clarinet) will bring to life the luminous works of Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, celebrating their shared devotion to chamber music and one another. Recognized by Robert as a genius and welcomed into the Schumann home, Johannes Brahms found in Clara not only a brilliant pianist but a kindred spirit — a woman of strength, intellect, and tenderness who inspired his deepest musical expressions. Their connection, born in admiration and sustained through affection, gave rise to some of the most heartfelt compositions of the Romantic era. Through their music, we hear not only the poetry of Romanticism but the intimate dialogue of three souls — bound by art, love, and humanity.
