WNDC is pleased to present “Luminous Horizons,” an exhibition of recent works by Washington-based artist Barbara Bitondo. Bringing together fiber constructions, botanical monoprints, stitched compositions, watercolors, and sculptural works on paper, the selection explores landscape as a place shaped by seasonal change, memory, and the passage of time. Highlights include Excavation I and II, Moonwater, and Aurora.

Using translucent materials, layered construction, and subtle color relationships, Bitondo softens the horizon and shifts our sense of atmosphere. The works trace changing light across dawn, dusk, and moonlit hours, attending to moments of transition between presence and absence, stillness and transformation.

Throughout the exhibition, monoprinting enters into dialogue with textile and fiber-art traditions. Botanical impressions transferred to paper and cloth create a dynamic interplay between wilderness and cultivation, chance and intention. Familiar forms are reimagined as poetic arrangements that blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, shelter and landscape. Together, the works explore how memory and perception shape our experience of place.
